YouTube-Style Interview: Story of the Russells

Jax Church, a non-denominational church in Florida, wanted to continue to build and promote connections and loving relationships throughout their community. Something else desired was to highlight members who aren’t in the spotlight or visible roles.

THE CHALLENGE

As a church grows, it becomes increasingly difficult for people to feel connected. Even with a congregation of only 200, most members don’t know large numbers of the church well at all.

Additionally, some people are less visible and can get lost in the shuffle. The challenge we faced was how to creatively build community in the church and provide an avenue to build emotional connections with people they have never met.

THE SOLUTION

Although it’s hard to beat face-to-face conversations over a meal, both time and scheduling become limiting factors.

On the other hand, a well-made video has a unique trifecta: emotional connection, easy consumption, and instant distribution.

In the span of a few minutes of watching a video, you can feel like you drove to someone’s house, sat down and talked with them, and possibly had your heart moved to tears or laughter.

And a video can be sent to millions of people simultaneously.

Because of these reasons, we harnessed video in a YouTube-style interview to help everyone in the Jax Church community to feel connected to a faithful, loving couple in the church.

This video was highly versatile and was able to be distributed across all their media platforms (Church App, YouTube, Email Newsletter, etc). Additionally, it was able to be shown as a powerful tool on a live Sunday.

A great benefit of hiring Fallingscalesmedia is it gives you the freedom to harness video, and yet still stay focused on your mission.
